Support Local Honey Production, Accor Hotels in Bali Plant Trees in Angkah Village, Tabanan to Ensure Ecosystem Sustainability
As part of its commitment to environmental conservation and local community empowerment, Accor, a leading global hotel chain, organized a tree planting program on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the Tapis Forest Farming Area (KTH) in Angkah Village, West Selemadeg, Tabanan. This program aims to support local farmer groups in boosting honey production through the planting of durian and avocado trees.
The selection of durian and avocado trees for this program is not without reason. These plants are believed to help increase the bee population in the area, as the flowers of both tree species serve as a rich and attractive nectar source for bees.
With the addition of more flowering trees, a healthier environment for bees can be created, ultimately resulting in high-quality honey production and sustainable benefits for the local farming community. “We hope this activity will not only enhance honey yields for local farmers but also positively impact the preservation of the ecosystem in Angkah Village,” said Mr. Jan Kroeckel, Area General Manager of Accor Hotels in Bali and Lombok. “This initiative aligns with our mission to support environmental conservation, particularly in areas surrounding our properties.”
Accor continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to advancing sustainability and community development programs. This tree planting effort is a small step in our broader endeavor to preserve biodiversity and support community resilience through sustainable, tangible actions.
